Three men and a ghost-boy? Written by Kitcat and spooky_uk
The legend:
In the finished movie "Three men and a baby" the ghost of a boy that died in the house, is seen standing in a window in one of the scenes. Example: (from www.snopes.com)
On a recent trip to the southwest U.S. I saw on several different news programs a rather strange story. Apparently in the movie "Three Men and a Baby" there is one scene that revealed what appeared to be a young boy standing between curtains in a room. The scene had Ted Danson speaking to a woman I believe. All the news programs I watched, froze the clip and zoomed in on the boy. It was very clear and well defined. It was only noticed after the film was distributed for home viewing. The facts are, a young boy died in the house in which the movie was filmed. Some people think it was his spirit. I don't know if this was a ploy to increase rentals of the tape or not. But what the news programs did show was just a bit too eerie for me. Variations:
In 1990 the 1987 movie Three Men and a Baby was released on vhs/videotape, When it was released people started to noticed an image of a boy in one of the scenes, rumours began to grow that it was the ghost of a young boy who was killed in the house where this scene was filmed, the today rumours are still quite widespread. The most rumour claims that a 9 year-old boy committed suicide with a shotgun in the house where the scene was filmed. Most other versions just state a boy died in the house, without stating how he died. Its also said that the young boy parents moved out after he killed himself with the house either being rented or sold to the movie studio, who are said to of used if for the inside of the house in 3 men and a baby.
One more detailed version, states that the young boys mother sues the movie studio after they refuse her request to remove the image from the film, and making the rounds of various TV talk and news magazine programs, An even wilder version have the mother spotting her dead son, dressed in his burial clothes, in the film. In stock folkloric fashion, the mother immediately goes insane and has to be confined to a mental institution, where she has remained ever since.

After reading all those versions, hearing the true maybe a little disappointing because its a little more mundane then what you just read. The scene shows what appears to be a "ghost" of a boy and a gun pointed into the ground in the background, However - The inside of the 3 men and a baby house was not set in a real house, it was in fact filmed on a studio set/a sound-stage in Toronto - The rumor of the ghost boy started when the film was first released onto video and helped with the promotion of the sequel "Three Men and a Little Lady". Some people have said that the studio created the rumor to promote the movie, But as you would expect this is unconfirmed.
The image you are seeing in the movie is a cardboard cut-out of Ted Danson, one of the stars of the movie. The cardboard cut-out featured in a scene that was edited out of the original film (see photo below), but the cardboard cut-out appears in the background of the original film and has the appearance of a small boy and the lapel appears as the gun in one occasion.
The scenes featured in the movie appear slightly different than the image below due to the curtains being over the cardboard cut-out and the different angles of the cut-out being filmed.
